Tools & Tech

As someone who utilized many apps to get in shape and relies on them to run my business, I’m always looking for helpful tools that cost little to no money. This page is an always up-to-date list of my favourites.

Lifestyle Apps

Notion

I use Notion to manage my whole life, from personal aspects like goal setting, workout tracking, journaling, recipes, and vet visits to professional aspects like time tracking, social media calendars, frameworks, finances, and my to-do list.

Spotify

I use Spotify as my main source of music. From discovering new music to building no less than 20 different playlists for different occasions—more than half for exercising. I also use it for podcasts and audiobooks as well.

ChatGPT

I use ChatGPT for everything from getting client work done faster, replying to emails, meal planning, yoga flows, and even getting through panic attacks.

GoodReads

I use Goodreads to help me track books I’ve read, discover what I want to read next, and help me stay on track with my reading goals.

Business Apps

Canva

I use Canva almost every day, whether I’m designing a collage of my cats, a social media graphic, a video, a presentation, a website image, or invoicing a client.

WordPress and Elementor

I use WordPress and Elementor for every website I build for my clients and myself—including this one!

Metricool

I use Metricool for scheduling social media posts for my clients and my own business’s content. I also use it as a dashboard for tracking analytics.

Mailerlite

I use Mailerlite for all the email marketing campaigns I do for clients and my own business.

Stripe

I use Stripe anytime I want to sell a digital product online.

Mindfulness Apps

Fabulous

I used Fabulous as the first step to building healthy habits in my life and recommend it to anyone starting a wellness journey.

Smiling Mind

I use Smiling Mind anytime I want to do guided meditation—the Australian accent makes it.

Fitness Apps

Couch to 5k

I used this app and program to get into running and would recommend it to everyone!

Strava

I use Strava to track all of my workouts and also give kudos to my friends for their activities.

Fit On

I used Fit On before I joined my first gym to try different workouts. I still use it occasionally for yoga flows. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to workout from home.

Fitbit

I use a Fitbit smart watch and their app to track my activity level, menstruation cycle, and sleep.

Strong

I use Strong in the gym to track how much and how heavy I’m lifting, plus how long to rest between sets. It’s been immensely helpful tracking everything so I can see whether I’m progressing or in a plateau.

Nutrition Apps

Cronometer

I used Cronometer to track my calorie intake, as well as my macro- and micro-nutrients. It was a great tool to help me make sure that I was getting enough protein, fibre, and vitamins every day without overdoing it with fats and sugars. I did become obsessed with the numbers, so now I only use it sparingly to see if my regular meals could be improved upon. So I’m not necessarily recommending calorie counting for everyone, but if you feel it’s right for your circumstances, this is a great app for it.
